  1. As salamu alaykum

I am new to writing and I have a few questions which I hope you can kindly answer for me. I am writing a book consisting of quotes and poetry based on the theme of dealing with hardship and trials. Please could you advise me which publishers you would recommend for this type of work?

Also the poems have been written by myself however I have collated Quranic ayahs /ahadith and quotes by various people. Would i need to seek permission if I attributed the quote  to the author or would I have to seek permission from the author if I could use their quote In the book?

JazakAllah in advance for  your time and effort out to respond. I hope to hear from you soon In sha Allah.

    Ma as salamah

    • Wa ‘alaykum as-salamu, “A” – and thank you for your question, which I have turned into a Q&A post on this page. It may be a while before any responses are posted. Also, I should mention that while we may do our best to research important and relevant issues like the one you mentioned, our findings should not be considered legal advice or the “final word.” Copyright issues are tricky and are best discussed with the experts.
