NAME OF BOOK:

Memories Of A Poet: My Road My Recovery

AUTHOR NAME & WEBSITE:

Sheena Hussain

WHAT THE BOOK IS ABOUT:

When Sheena Hussain was given a shocking and life-changing medical diagnosis, she didn’t know what to do. A solicitor, Hussain had kept her life busy with court, cases, and clients. Now, she was forced to slow down and think about what she really wanted from her life. As Hussain was working through these issues, she chronicled her dreams and fears through her poetry. This introspective new poetry collection takes you from the days after her diagnosis to her current position on the road to recovery.

WHY I WROTE IT:

The health adversity that suddenly came into my life was the main reason why I wanted to explore my emotions in the form of memories past and current and capture them as and when they came alive.  Connecting to memories which offered me much comfort led me to write about them in the form of poetry.

I am hoping the book will empower humanity at large and will help people explore that adversity can be very nourishing for the soul and that you can come out of it and find yourself in a completely new fresh direction.

AN EXCERPT:

I see you suffer through a screen; it can’t be more than an inch deep. If I could touch your aching heart…but who am I kidding; we are worlds apart.” (Taken from the poem Aleppo)

WHERE TO BUY IT:
