NAME OF COMPANY & WEBSITE:
“A Muslim-American to write about growing up and living as a Muslim in the post-9/11 United States.”
OVERVIEW OF POSITION:
Cult of Americana (COA) is seeking a Muslim-American to write about growing up and living as a Muslim in the post-9/11 United States. Our content is thought-provoking, insightful, and offers a noteworthy perspective that can’t be portrayed unless you’ve really lived it.
We are located in Chicago and would prefer a writer from here, but it’s not a prerequisite. Applicants only have to live in the United States. Preferred candidate would’ve come of age at some point in the past 15 years (preferred current age 24-45).
We pay per piece. Freelance contributors get paid at a single article rate; staff writers receive a higher stipend. We also pay to promote our writers’ work through our social media channels.
New pieces are required every six weeks.

Take Your Writing to the Next Level!
While some writers make a dollar per article writing for content mills, others make a dollar per word writing for high-end magazines and other publications. A thousand bucks for a thousand words is a reality for many writers, and it can be your reality, too. The BIG BOOK of High-Paying Markets, a new Kindle e-book by Amel S. Abdullah, will show you how.
